Quality Assurance and Governess

 This presentation will include the PRB walk down process including schedule, sharing of best practices internal and external via Operating Experience Alert, and process used for tracking of items noted during walk downs.

Boiler Wash/ Housekeeping

A presentation on the benefits and risks associated with external boiler wash. Good housekeeping practices can prevent fugitive dust issues and mitigate safety hazards that may be present. The benefits outweigh the risk.

Tactical O&M Strategies

A discussion on Logic changes (TPE), coal leaks, maintenance strategy and operational processes that ensure we are operating efficiently and safely in today’s environment.

Fuel Strategies and Improvements

 During times of budget constraints and regulations we are forced to rethink our strategies and processes. We will share improvements made in Fuels such as new gravimetric feeders, wet dust collection systems, LED lighting and a review of our processes from train unloading to filling the silos.

Plant Scherer invites you to visit the plant and see with your own eyes their facility and successes.

7:45 AM – Bus will pick up at Hotel (no individual vehicles will be allowed on property)

8:30 AM – Welcome and presentation

9:00 AM – Staged Tours begins

11:30 AM – Lunch

2:00 PM – Bus will return to hotel

*Closed toe shoes required as the tours will be in and around the plant and the coal yard.  Hard hats, safety glasses, and hearing protection will be provided.

Free to members and $100 for non – members.
